What Is the Things Skill?

The Things skill integrates OpenClaw with Things 3 — the award-winning macOS/iOS task manager — letting you add, complete, and query tasks via your AI agent from any connected channel.

Requirements

• macOS 12+ with Things 3 installed
• Things 3 must be running when the skill executes
• OpenClaw daemon running with macOS Automation permissions

Installation

openclaw skills install things-mac

On first run, macOS will prompt you to grant automation permissions. Click Allow. If you miss the prompt, enable it manually in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation → OpenClaw → Things3.

Available Commands

• things add "Buy groceries" --list Errands — add a task
• things today — show today's tasks
• things complete <task_name> — mark a task done
• things upcoming — show scheduled tasks
• things search <query> — search all tasks

iOS Sync

Tasks added via OpenClaw sync to Things on your iPhone and iPad automatically through Things Cloud — no extra configuration needed.
