QR Code Not Appearing

Cause: The WhatsApp Web connector cannot initialize.

Fix:

  1. Delete the session cache: rm -rf ~/.openclaw/channels/whatsapp/session/
  2. Restart the channel: openclaw channel restart whatsapp
  3. A fresh QR code should appear — scan it quickly (within 60 seconds)

Session Keeps Disconnecting

Cause: WhatsApp detected multiple active sessions or the phone lost internet.

Fix:

Account Banned / Restricted

Cause: WhatsApp detected automated behavior or spam-like patterns.

Prevention:

Multi-Device Issues

WhatsApp limits the number of linked devices. If you reach the limit, unlink old devices from WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices before connecting OpenClaw.
