BlueBubbles (iMessage) Integration
BlueBubbles bridges iMessage to OpenClaw, allowing you to interact with your AI agent through Apple's native messaging platform. This requires a Mac running as a server.
Requirements
- A Mac (always on, connected to internet) running macOS 11+
- An iCloud account signed into Messages
- BlueBubbles server application installed on the Mac
Setup Process
- Download and install BlueBubbles from bluebubbles.app
- Configure the BlueBubbles server and note the server URL and password
- Connect to OpenClaw:
openclaw channel add bluebubbles - Enter your BlueBubbles server URL and password when prompted
Limitations
- Requires a dedicated Mac always running (Mac Mini recommended)
- iMessage features like Tapbacks and effects are not fully supported
- Group chat support is limited compared to 1:1 conversations
- Occasional reconnection needed after macOS updates
